just have a minute to spare... we just read this book and it's sooo beautifully written and illustrated... about a little girl reconnecting with her father who had just come back from the war. true story by Lois Lowry.

Regardless of whether it's anti-war propaganda or not, this is one enjoyable book, especially for boys who love soldiers and cannons and all that.  I first learned about it from Jenn at 4Real.
