Fifteen Animals
We first "met" Sandra Boynton when hubby and I were dating. He introduced me to Boynton greeting cards and our courtship/dating months were peppered with Boynton cards and gifts. Naturally we bought Boynton board books for the kids when they were born. Twenty-plus years later, Boynton hasn't lost any of her charm. This board book which introduces counting to little ones oozes with Boynton's trademark cuteness AND silliness. It's one of the first books that our toddler has "memorized" and he loves "reading" it to us, except for the last page which is a bit challenging for him. I won't tell you what it says, you'll have to get the book! :)

Goodnight Moon
If rice is a staple on our dining table, this book is a staple on our little ones' shelves. Having grown up in the Philippines, I didn't know many of what's considered children's classics here. Imagine my delight when as a new mom and lifelong lover of books, I stumbled upon Children's Book of the Month Club.... there began a new chapter in my life as collector of children's books. This was one of our very first purchases. We're on our 3rd copy now, in 18+ years of parenting. This still gives much pleasure. I will forever remember the feel of having my wee one cuddled in my arms while reading this book.

Bunny day: Telling time from breakfast to bedtime
Cute little book for reading aloud to little ones and introducing them to the concept of time and how our days work. Even the endpapers are included in the story! Funny and fun. And I love that the parents are shown chillin' at the end of the day. (A good reminder to kids that their mom and dad need down time too :). You could also use it to begin a day.

The Twelve Days of Christmas by Laurel Long
What I liked about this book was the artwork, which shows you the things that are mentioned in the lyrics.
